Today, I am here to introduce UltaHost, a relatively new company on the market. UltaHost is a US Corporation with data centers in Canada, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, India, and the European Union. The provider employs modern system software on its servers, reducing its clients’ costs for deploying and managing projects.
While the company only dates back to 2018, it has achieved significant growth and taken over a large market share since then. This expansion is due to its wide range of products and high quality of service. The company delivers effective web hosting-related services at affordable prices. More importantly, UltaHost continually improves its IT solutions to serve its existing and potential customers better.
UltaHost offers Domain Names, SSL Certificates, and the WHOIS Checker. As part of its Tools and Services, you can also find Reseller, Ecommerce, Social Network, Email, and CRM Hosting, along with other Products.
But enough about theory and claims. Let’s get to work. I’ll put UltaHost to testing and report the findings openly and genuinely, as I always do.
Ultahost does not have a BBB listing (only applicable for U.S.-based companies), however, Trustpilot awards them 4.6 stars out of five (with more than 145 user reviews).
Getting Started with UltaHost
As soon as you visit UltaHost’s website, you’ll immediately notice its simplicity. It’s somewhat of a WordPress theme with a design that’s especially easy on the eyes.
In the top menu, you can find Domain, Hosting, Tools & Services. You can also find the Affiliate program, get support, access the Client Area, or change the language. You’ll also notice the active hosting flash sales if any.
I like the rotating menu on the home page, listing popular app integrations you will get with an UltaHost plan. These include Google Cloud, WordPress, QuickDate, Deepsound, Jetpack, LiteSpeed, PixelPhoto, WoWonder, and Cloudflare. But more on that later.
If you scroll down, you will get to the web hosting plans. UltaHost transparently lists all that you can get from each plan to facilitate your decision.
I will follow the same pattern as always and get a shared hosting plan. It’s the cheapest alternative. Better yet, it allows me to analyze what the provider has to offer at a minimum. And it only gets better from there and on.
Ultahost offers four shared hosting plans, Shared Starter, Basic, Business, and Pro. You can get them on a monthly or an annual basis. The provider offers 40% off on the yearly plans. So, if you are certain that you are in for the longer term, you might as well use this discount.
Since I am here for the testing, I will go for a monthly plan. At the time of my purchase, the monthly plans were also at a discount. So, I will get an excellent offer as well.
All four shared hosting plans come with unlimited bandwidth, free daily backups, free SSL certificate(s), and free 30-days money-back. Also, UltaHost provides an excellent standard of quality. You can get NVMe SSDs even in the cheapest plan.
The difference lies in the number of domains, monthly visits, and GB of storage supported in each plan. For instance, the Shared Starter allows for one domain, 10,000 visits, and 30GB NVMe SSD. See, that’s enough for me at the moment. However, you can upgrade up to unlimited domains, 49,000 monthly visits, and 110GB NVMe SSD if you need more.
I clicked on ‘Order,’ which got me to the following screen.
Here, you can register a new domain, transfer your domain from another registrar, or use an existing domain and update your nameservers. So, UltaHost does not limit you in any regard.
You can type in your desired domain name to check its availability.
If your domain name is free, you can continue with the registration. If not, you can scroll down; UltaHost grants you multiple alternatives with different extensions and prices to find the perfect match for your needs.
Once you click on Continue, you will get to the following screen. Here, you can check the configurations, such as billing cycle or server location. If everything is in place and per your business needs and preferences, you can again click on ‘Continue.’
In the next step, Domains Configuration, you can add ID Protection. It will protect your personal information and reduce the amount of spam in your inbox.
Then, once you click on ‘Continue,’ you will get to Review & Checkout. Here, you can check your order summary. As you can see, I don’t have a free domain with my shared hosting plan.
On your last step within the purchase, you can add any promo codes you might have or include add-ons, such as CodeGuard daily backups.
At Checkout, you need to enter your Personal Information, Billing Address, Additional Required Information, Account Security, Payment Details, and Additional Notes.
In Payment Details, you can choose from credit/debit card, PayPal (2Checkout), Bank Transfer, and Bitcoin (Blockonomics).
That’s more or less all about the registration process. Let’s see what comes next!
Setting Things Up at UltaHost
As soon as you log in to the Client Area, you will see the following screen, your Dashboard.

If you click on your active product, you’ll be able to log in to cPanel, Webmail, change your password, and upgrade or downgrade. Also, Ultahost displays the usage statistics, such as disk and bandwidth usage, quick shortcuts, and a billing overview at the bottom of the page.
Let’s check what the cPanel has to offer.

Furthermore, you can find Email Deliverability, Address Importer, Spam Filters, Encryption, BoxTrapper, Calendars and Contacts, and Email Disk Usage.

In this section, you can also find Project Management, E-Commerce, ERP, Guest Books, Customer Support, Frameworks, Educational, DB Tools, Music, Video, RSS, File Management, Others, and Libraries.
That’s more or less about it. Back to the Client Area!
Suppose you click to place a new order. In that case, you’ll spot a list of all categories available for purchase: VPS Hosting, Virtual Dedicated (VDS), Windows VPS Hosting, macOS VPS Hosting, Dedicated Servers, WordPress Hosting, Reseller Hosting Plans, Email Hosting, Server Support Services, SSL Certificates, Other Products, Website Backup, Website Builder, SEO Tools, Website Security, Plesk Panel Licence, Game Server – Minecraft, Game Server – Valheim, Server Optimization, and Product Add-ons.
Finally, UltaHost will display all available add-ons within the last section, depending on your product.
In Billing, you’ll find your invoices and quotes. You can also manage your credit card or select mass payment. Invoices include all your paid, unpaid, cancelled, and refunded services. You can find the invoice number, date, due date, total amount, and status for each invoice.
For each ticket, you can find additional information, including the Department, Subject, Status, and Last Update.
Next, the Website & Security section includes SSL Certificates, Website Backup, Website Builder, SEO Tools, Website Security, and Manage SSL Certificates.
UltaHost offers Standard SSL (DV), Organisation Validation (OV), Extended Validation (EV), and Wildcard.
Depending on your needs, preferences, and budget, you can choose from SSL certificates starting at $15.95 up to $1,459.
The SSL certificates you purchase on your account will display in the last section, Manage SSL Certificates. As you can see, I have none at the moment.
You can also get daily automated CodeGuard website backups with UltaHost.
UltaHost allows you to choose your backup storage, from 1GB to 200GB.
As a bonus, you can expect unlimited files and databases, one-click restores, malware monitoring, automatic WordPress updates, file changing monitoring, staging of restores, email backup, and full automation.
Next, UltaHost lets you get Weebly’s drag-and-drop website builder straight from the Client Area.
You can try Weebly for free or choose from its three paid versions, Starter, Pro, and Business. You can pay quarterly, semi-annually, annually, biennially, or triennially.
Weebly is one of the most famous website builders, and it can help you develop a whole range of professional websites without any coding skills or prior developer experience.
The Marketgoo integration can help you improve your website traffic and grow your business. More specifically, you can choose from two plans.
As for website security and malware protection for your website, UltaHost offers a SiteLock integration, the global leader in website security.
You can choose from three SiteLock plans, Find, Fix, and Defend. The SiteLock features include malware scan, automatic malware removal, vulnerability scan, OWASP protection, firewall, reputation protection, fast, automated setup, and a Content Delivery Network (CDN).
Below Website and Security, you’ll spot Support, including Tickets, Open Ticket, Knowledgebase, Announcements, Network Status, and Downloads.
UltaHost classifies the support tickets into Open, Answered, Customer-Reply, and Closed. From here, you can also get additional support. You can find Announcements, Knowledgebase, Downloads, Network Status, or open a new ticket.
In Network Status, you can check for any active network issues.
If you want to open a new ticket, you can choose from UltaHost’s support and sales departments.
Once you select a department, you must insert your name, email address, department, related service, and priority (low, medium, or high). Then, write the subject and message, and attach your files (optional).
So, we are only left with the Affiliate program and Store. As explained earlier, the Store is a shortcut to all available products with UltaHost.
UltaHost enables you to earn up to 40% commissions. Its system tracks referrals and pays top commissions for every client you send their way.
Key takeaways: UltaHost’s Client Area is especially easy to navigate. You can find everything you need in one place, which is more than convenient; domains, services, billing, website and security, support, affiliates, integrations, and store. So, it’s the perfect match for both beginners and experienced pros willing to save some time and effort.
Performance, Speed, and Uptime
UltaHost has five server locations, including the USA, Canada, and Europe (Germany and the Netherlands), thus delivering maximum speed and data security.
Its servers are housed inside a state-of-the-art data center facility, equipped with raised floors, climate control, 24/7 security, fire suppression systems, water detection systems, UPS & generators. As their customer, you’ll also benefit from the latest Intel processors and Juniper and Cisco for network switching/routing.
UltaHost features Tier-3 and Tier-4 data centers to provide you with the best possible uptime. Its dedicated servers come with a 100% Uptime Guarantee. The provider has several other speed and performance features.
You’ll also benefit from guaranteed resources without overselling or sharing CPU or RAM and other resources, SSD and NVMe storage, optimized stack, built-in cache, PHP versions, and ultra-optimized 14th generation dell servers.
All Ultahost servers are based on the latest SSD technology and configured in a redundant RAID 10 configuration. It means that, as a customer, you will never have to worry about the hard drives failing or losing your data. Also, you can expect a 200% speed boost compared to HDDs.
The RocketBooster feature currently delivers three times more resources per account and three times fewer users per service. The high-performance php7 hosting environment consists of LiteSpeed LSAPI, APC & OPcache, Static, and Dynamic Varnish cache.
Another worthy mention beneficial for both security and speed is Cloudflare CDN Caching. Essentially, the tool replicates your site content on over 190 servers worldwide. Your website visitors will load the site from the server location closest to them. And as you already know, the closer the server, the lower the latency.
Level of Support at UltaHost
Ultahost has a Knowledge Base, FAQ section, a Blog, Server Support Service, Ticketing System, and Email and Phone support.
You can access these options in Support from the top menu even when you are not logged in.
The Knowledgebase consists of several categories: General Guides, Troubleshooting, Domains, Hosting Products, Security, Billing Portal, Database, DNS, and PHP.
If you scroll a bit down, you can also find FAQ section and featured articles.
And if you cannot find what you were looking for, there is the CTA at the bottom of the page, inviting you to submit a ticket.
Frequently Asked Questions are divided into four sections: General, Shared Server Hosting, VPS Server, and Dedicated Servers.
If you click on Contact Us, you can also find the option to send a ticket. Now, the company claims to offer 24/7/365 assistance.
Next comes the Server Support Service. UltaHost will provide technical support and fulfill your requests from 09:00 to 18:00 local time if you get this add-on. You might also get something done at night when your website gets less traffic. However, you would have to schedule with an agent first.
You can choose from three plans, ECONOM, STANDART, and BUSINESS.
Finally, the Ultahost Blog features interesting articles covering website hosting, interesting facts, comparisons, tutorials, and videos.
Also, as mentioned before, you can check the Network Status if you are logged into the Client Area.
Even if you are unsatisfied with the products you purchased from UltaHost, you can always get a refund. Well, at least if you issue the request within the period specified in their policy.
Also, if you want a refund, you should issue the request before you close your account. This one is tricky, so make sure to remember it. After account closure, you won’t be eligible for a refund for any of the services.
According to UltaHost’s Refund Policy, I am eligible for a refund on my shared hosting plan.
Let’s check if they will grant it to me. I clicked on ‘Request Cancellation’ within My Services in the Client Area. Here, you can choose from immediate cancellation or at the end of the billing period. I went for the first option and asked for a refund as well. If you want to cancel your product, you also need to briefly describe your reason for cancellation.
It’s safe to say they stand true to their promises. I got my refund without hesitation!
Security and Backups
UltaHost comes with several security features to protect its customers, including dedicated firewalls, SSL certificates, login security, IP whitelisting, BitNinja security, and database security.
You can use the Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect your websites from malicious attacks, such as SQL injection, Cross-site Scripting (XSS), Local File Include, Remote File Include, XML-RPC DDoS attacks, etc.
The provider also performs malware scans, reports, and free daily backups. You will get daily backups from the past 7/30 days, kept off-site. As their customer, you get full and unrestricted access to these backups using the web-based 1-click Restore Manager. In case your site fails, the technical team from UltaHost can help you restore your content at no extra fee.
Still, what I like the best regarding Ultahost is the possibility of installing unlimited SSLs for free for life. Better yet, you will not need any special configurations or email validations. Instead, the process is incredibly straightforward.
UltaHost also offers SpamExperts to increase the deliverability of your emails. The provider uses 100% clean IPs with an excellent reputation so that your messages don’t end up in the spam folder. The system can eliminate almost 100% of SPAM, delivering close to zero false positives.
