If you’re looking for a VPS hosting package, a cloud hosting package or a dedicated server, then you really can’t do much wrong with 123 Reg.

I signed up and they were more than willing to take my money. I decided I didn't need the web site so closed it down. I soon noticed the monthly recurring charges continued. A lengthy phone call and the services were cancelled, or so I thought.
Yesterday they took money from my account for an annual subscription.
I phoned the support and spoke to a man with a heavy Indian accent, so possibly an Indian call centre. He was treating me like an idiot and talking down to me. He advised me that I needed to disable the service and needed the password that was supplied originally. I have no idea what it was so effectively can't disable it. I noticed that it is an annual subscription so next year they will try to take more money from me. They will try, but I have blocked them at the bank and this as placed them on the suspicious debitors list.
Be VERY careful with these people, they are in business to make money and don't care who they walk over or how they trick you into parting with your money.
I will be taking them to the small claims court as dealing with them is so difficult and time consuming. Time is money,
Awful service, they overcharge, and it's impossible to reach them when you call to customer service.
The service is awful, they overcharge their service. I realised I was paying twice per month after more than a year -unfortunately-. Stay away from this company. I realised they were charging twice for hosting a site in word press, and in their site at the same time. Also, I was paying twice for the SSL certificate -and it didn't work-. When I called to check why my site showed that it was a non secured site, they said because I never call to activate the certificate... after a year. It seems that it worked on and off. Customer Service is zero. Please don't waste your time and money with this company. You'll regret it!
A complete waste of time, online support and telephone support is the worse i have every encountered. if your business is critical, avoid them like the plague.

123 reg is a scam in a way they not allowed you to turn off or cancel the automatic renew!!! You have to go throught a complex procedure in order to cancel the automatic renew. This never been inform before you sign up or by a domain! Their domain is never 0.99p!!! It always somethingelse to add on and add on! The trade standard should look at the way 123 reg is operate as a business and it should get shut down!
Raised an issue via chat on Tuesday, no reply. Raised again thursday via phone and asked to speak to manager. Called again friday, ticket raised, told manager will call monday. No call, so all called at 16:50 - told someone will get back to me in a day or 2. Not good enough. I need a call back asap.
I have a package which gives me 10,000 email addresses - i use 210. Apparently you no longer offer this but i have this until September and i accidentally bought the package twice last year, which u refused to refund and said the package would run for an additional year - you refused to refund so i am in contract with you until sept 2021. All documented in support. The add email address feature is not working - i have staff needing to work from home, your inability to provide this is going to force me to make vulnerable staff members redundant.
One year ago I purchased a domain name from 123 for just over £5. Payment was taken and on the confirmation email there was reference to recurring annual payments. Nothing was brought to my attention prior to purchase but generally I have found companies who take recurring payments, especially where a substantial increase is involved, have notified me in advance by email/text prior to any funds being taken.
The domain name I purchased was never activated or associated with a web site and remained dormant for the entire year. Two days before the year was up, without any notice, 123 helped themselves to another £28.78, an increase of over 475%! I cancelled the account on the same day and asked for a refund by email. I received an email from a company called Nominet stating the domain had been cancelled, as had the Identity Protection associated with it. I also received a brief email from someone named Christian at 123 telling me that before I could be given a refund I had to log in and switch off the Identity Protection, once I had done this I should get back to them.
Surprise, it seems as the account was cancelled I cannot do this. I have sent several emails back but not had a reply. I have spoken to someone in a call centre, in a galaxy far away, who could not help beyond their screen script and told me I would have to complete a form and submit additional personal details to obtain a new password before a refund could be considered. I asked for a supervisor or decision maker to call me back. Nothing, no calls, no emails, only silence. I have been completely stone walled by 123. Strange, they took my money with the click of a mouse but it’s a major hoop jumping exercise to try and retrieve it, especially when no-one gets back. They still have my money and I doubt there’s much prospect of me ever seeing it again.
