DONT GET SITE5.

listen. Don't ever use site5. Besides the horrible horrible HORRIBLE customer service, you will be doomed if the issue is on their side. I have lost good business due to two weeks on not being able to use my email functions at all...Read More. So then you contact customer service and they just tell you there is nothing they can do to help except send the issue to the developer whilst happily charging you monthly for this shit.

If I could, I would have have given 0 stars. But not even there can you put your true rating of this terrible service.

DONT GET IT.

Move your Website to Another Host ASAP

After 15 years with Site 5, things got crazy early this year. They did something that broke my 8000+ page site, and wouldn't even acknowledge that they had done anything. When asked to restore a backup, they said the backup was em...Read Morepty. I had a local backup and moved it to a new host in mid February. I tried to cancel Site 5 by unchecking the autorenewal option on the credit card. My next 3 year term starts on March 18. On March 1, I noticed they had charged my account for the renewal despite it not being set for auto renew. I told them to reverse the charge but they said they couldn't since it was an autorenewal account. (which it wasn't) - They then deleted all support tickets that showed that I had told them not to renew the site, and reverse the charge ASAP. I'm currently disputing this charge but apparently I'm not the only one that they are trying to scam. Do yourself a favor and get out before it deteriorates any further, and make sure you have a local backup!Less

I hosted my web sistes on site5 for 10 years, it was good hosting for a reasonable price but in the last years the service got worse all the time, servers are slow, not updated for months, when they are updated there are often err...Read Moreors that support is not able to fix.

No support

1.0
I have had an email problem on Site5 for nearly a year. It no longer provides telephone support and writing a "ticket" about an issue is summarily ignored. A few days later, after submitting a ticket, an email from site5 is recei...Read Moreved after each ticket that says. "since we have not heard from you the issue will be closed". I have sent several tickets complaining of he same issue numerous times and each time the issue is ignored and followed by the same email to me. There isn't even a statement that the issue was read.

I have therefore moved my website and hosting to another hosting company but Site5 relentlessly bombards me with email about the issue it refuses to resolve. I lost a lot of business because emails I sent to customers from it's server were consistently bounced from gmail, aol and yahoo email accounts because the Site5 server was insecure by gmail, aol and yahoo.

At this time, nearly a year after submitting the first ticket, and several months after moving my website to another host, Site5 refuses so acknowledge that I am no longer a customer. They keep sending those useless emails about the ticket being closed. I need to make sure that any future charges to my credit card that are attempted by Site5 are blocked since customer service has not deleted my account, even though I specifically sent a request to customer service insisting that my account be closed (and even though I have removed my website and email to another host).

Site5's support is Horrible ...the worst...it is non-existent!! I suspect there are no live support technicians working for this company, hence the spitting out the same canned email month after month to me "closing" my ticket without ever addressing my problem , and giving no pretext that there was even an effort to address the problem.

Go somewhere else when looking for a webhost.

Their user website is difficult to use. I tried to renew a domain and it declined every card I used or it logged me out. After several attempts, I opened a ticket with their billing department. I did not host with them for great quality but the service was fairly cheap and provided decent vanilla WHM/CPanel installs. However, there is no simple and inexpensive way to add SSL, security is poor and there are a few other is...Read Moresues. Then they ratcheted up the price month by month from affordable to clearly out of line for what was provided. Then to punctuate the irritation I planned to cancel and checked my next invoice due date which was 11/16/22. I planned to close out the account on 11/14. Then I get a payment notice on 11/11. No problem I think, I will close the account and get refunded since the DUE DATE is on the 16th. Support lets me know that they cannot be refunded since it was already renewed. That would be fine IF the due date was not next week. Stay clear of these guys.Less

Overview

Site5.com – Can’t Beat the Services and Location Options

Site5.com is one of the most established web hosting companies on the market today. They have been providing their customers with high quality web hosting for years, yet remain one of the more advanced services available. When you sign up with a new account with Site5, they will move all your sites from any other hosting solution over, free of charge. This is a great feature since web hosting transfers can be tricky, especially if you haven’t done them in the past. One of the best features of this hosting company is that they have servers in data centers around the world. This means you can have your site hosted in a location that is near where your visitors are from. With this option your visitors will likely notice that your site loads more quickly and is much more responsive. They have also customized their control panel (still using the industry standard cPanel) to help make it easier for newer users. If you’re already used to the traditional cPanel setup, it is not difficult to learn this new system at all and in most cases you will likely enjoy the added usability.

Uptime & Reliability

99.9% uptime with a money back guarantee

Like most web hosting companies, Site5 offers a full 99.9% uptime guarantee. In addition, however, they guarantee that if your site goes down, they will refund you the money. This is a nice little perk, though in most cases it is not something you will ever take advantage of (this is a good thing). In the event that you do run into trouble, Site5 has 24/7/365 live chat and email technical support. They also offer phone support during normal business hours. There have been very few complaints about reliability from users of this company, and given the fact that they have so many different data centers, it is clear that they are able to provide exceptional reliability.

Features & Services

Nearly endless list of high quality services available

Be careful when you start browsing through their list of available services, it seems like it goes on forever. Some of the more important options include unlimited disk space and bandwidth on all their packages (even the entry level ones). All their packages also include free backups, a 99.9% uptime guarantee, easy website builder and much more. You can only have one website hosted on their lowest level package, but once you move up from that, they offer unlimited domain and website hosting. If you aren’t 100% happy with the services you get from Site5, they offer a full 45 day money back guarantee, which will give you plenty of time to really evaluate their services properly.

Pricing

Fair pricing for all levels of services

Site5 offers a wide variety of differnet web hosting services to choose from. Their entry level package starts at $4.95 per month, which is about average these days. The prices go up based on the type of services you need. In addition to their popular shared hosting services, they also offer managed and unmanaged virtual servers, which are priced quite nicely. For example, if you are a web expert and go with an unmanaged VPS, you can get a dual core, 1 gig of memory setup for just $25 per month. It is $50 for the same setup under the managed option. It is important to note that their prices do change based on where you select to have your website hosted. For example, a basic package in Dallas Texas starts at just $4.95 per month. That same package is $5.95 in San Francisco, and $9.95 in Joao Pessoa, Brazil. Make sure you are looking closely at where you want your site hosted. It is often worth the extra money to get the location you want, but in some cases it is better to just go with the lower price.

Summary

sales@site5.com

This is an obvious choice for anyone who is picky about where their websites are hosted. They have almost two dozen different data centers to choose from, giving you more options than almost any other hosting company available today. They also have a long history of providing great customer service and excellent support.
Pros

Free site migration from old hosting companies

Nearly two dozen data centers to choose from, located around the world

Unlimited bandwidth and disc space

Cons

Limited to one site on their ‘hostBasic’ plan

Some customers have complained that their entry level hosting is somewhat slow
