The worst!

Used this website to start my e-commerce business. Absolutely terrible. I worked on my website for 3 weeks and all of a sudden, POOF, it was gone, everything I worked on, GONE. You know what they said? They have no idea what happe...Read Morened and acted like I did something wrong. And they show no record of it, only that I called for support. I paid for this service a year in advanced and when I changed to Spotify they made everything extremely difficult to change. Then they kept my money for services they did not provide. Continue with them if you want but don't say you were not warned. Oh this is a foreign company and they could care less that they put me back weeks from opening my store. NEVER AGAIN.Less

I purchased the Essentials packet, followed all the instructions to launch my site ASAP. I ran into technical issues from the begining. Web.com kept demanding I contact google for my CSR for SSL Certificate. Google had to explai...Read Moren to me, more than once, that the hosting company provides CSRs. It took 3 different support calls until a Rep was able to validate what Google told me, then web.com issued the SSL certificate. As soon as that was done, I updated my DNS settings and published my website. I published my website and nothing but an Under Construction site comes up. I called back for support, they republished the site on their end (whatever that means) and made me wait another 24 hours. A week later, I am still unable to get anywhere and the 4 different escalation requests have not been followed up on!
I am on the phone with the cancelation team at this moment and they are telling me that they cannot refund me because I only had three days from the date of sign-up (11/2/2022) to cancel and get a refund! Now they tell me no supervisor is available and that they will request they call me back. I have been waiting for someone to call me back since day 1!
If anyone at web.com cares to follow up, my service ticket number is S2027192.
SAY AWAY FROM web.com!
Out of my 7+ phone calls to support for this same ticket, I have only had 2 reps who seem to really understand the issue and wanted to help but kept referencing the case with the hosting and that it is still waiting for them to reach out to me within 24-48 hours. I am still waiting...
What a joke of a company!

We have used their service since 2015 and they have gotten worse year after year. They actually built the web site. They apparently moved their email server and my outlook is unable to connect. I talked to them about rebuilding ou...Read Morer website to update it and needed a solution to the email issue and they told me they cannot assist unless I purchased some type of support subscription in addition to the money I am currently paying. I said that is fine let me talk to that area to investigate my options and I was told I cannot unless I pay for the service first. Unfortunately, the lady that wanted to take my payment could not tell me what services I was buying. I am now in talks with another service provider as I am trying to run a business and I do not have time to waste with this.

I told them I need a service provider that can keep my technology up and running.

It has taken almost a month to get our domain released and transferred to GoDaddy. Customer Service makes up excuses and lies about when the domain would be transferred. They said all domains are released once every 24 hours. Here we are 3 days later still waiting for the release.

I had a web hosting account with Web.com recently. You can certainly do better. I called their too-free number, tapped my way through the menu and waited. The wait time announcements fluctuate wildly. Ten minutes...five minutes......Read More18 minutes...2 minutes...1 hour and thirty minutes...46 minutes...click. I hung up and had to switch banks to stop the automatic monthly billing. Avoid! My advice - research the service thoroughly, including how to end the service. Sometimes that's where the big surprise is.Less

Nice hosting from a major internet company

Web.com is not primarily a web hosting company, which makes it somewhat harder than normal to provide a really accurate review.  They often integrate hosting with some of their other services, so in areas of price and features you may be getting a great deal, even if it doesn’t seem like it at first glance with the price itself.

When looking specifically at their web hosting services, they are well established and are a nice option for most simple sites.  If you are using their small business website creation tools, it really makes sense to consider having them provide the hosting as well.  For someone who is strictly looking for a web hosting company, however, this may not be the best option.

Uptime & Reliability

No statistics available, but great datacenter technology

Web.com doesn’t provide uptime statistics or guarantees, which is quite odd for a hosting company (even if it isn’t their main business).  This makes it somewhat hard to determine just how reliable their services are.  That being said, they do have a top of the line data center setup, which is monitored 24/7 for any type of issues.

Some users have reported excessive downtime and hosting errors when working with this company, but overall the user experience seems to be quite positive.

Features

Endless list of additional features

Since web.com is not really focused on web hosting, their list of other services that they offer is seemingly endless.  They are well known for their website design for small businesses, which is really how they made their name. One hosting related feature they do offer is a free year of domain name registration with the purchase of any of their hosting packages.

Along with the hosting, you will also get access to all their basic website creation tools, which are quite impressive.  This is quite a bit more than just a typical free WordPress skin offer so if you are looking to make a really great looking site, this host might be an excellent choice..

They also offer a custom control panel for their users.

Support

24/7/365 Technical Support by Phone

The support being offered by Web.com is one of their best selling points.  They have continuous phone support, which is becoming a lot less common.  You can also use their email based support, which is monitored 24/7 as well.

When you sign up for their services you also get a periodic webmaster newsletter, which actually gives you quite a bit of useful information on how to better run your site.  Overall, their tech support is very respectable.

Pricing

Nice Pricing for what you get

Again, due to the fact that they aren’t strictly (or even primarily) a web hosting company, it can be somewhat difficult to evaluate their prices for hosting.  This is because you are really buying a full package of their services.  If all you want is the hosting, the price may seem higher than it should, especially since they are only providing you with shared hosting services.

Once you factor in the additional features and services that they are able to provide, it really starts to become more attractive.  For the price, you get a great website design, hosting, support and a variety of other services that will really make it worth your while.

Summary

Not bad if you’re using their other services

If you are going to be taking advantage of the services provided by web.com, it really makes sense to use their hosting as well due to the fact that it is typically bundled in.  If all you need is a web host, however, it is likely best to go with someone else. The services they provide are quite nice, but if you’re not using them than they can end up just being confusing and distracting.
