I started by signing up for both services to evaluate the entire onboarding experience from the moment you decide to purchase hosting.
InMotion Hosting Registration
From InMotion’s homepage, I clicked the “All Hosting” tab in the top menu and selected “Shared Hosting.”

The navigation is clean and well organised, clearly displaying all core hosting categories, including Shared, WordPress, VPS, and Dedicated Server options.
On the Shared Hosting page, I noticed two tabs at the top: Premium and Starter. I clicked Starter, which targets small websites or new businesses. Two plan options appeared:
- Core – USD 2.99 /month (renews at USD 11.99 /month) for 1 website and 100 GB SSD storage
- Launch – USD 4.79 /month (renews at USD 14.99 /month) for 2 websites, 100 GB NVMe storage, and unmetered bandwidth

The dashboard structure is logical and presents all key features up front rather than hiding them behind dropdown menus. The top navigation bar included:

Hosting Setup: Creating a New WordPress Website
Testing WordPress installation is critical because WordPress powers over 40 % of all websites. If you’re like most people, you’ll be running WordPress, so the installation process needs to be quick, straightforward, and error-free.
InMotion Hosting WordPress Setup
I logged into cPanel (which I had selected during signup) and looked for the WordPress installer.

InMotion uses Softaculous, an auto-installer that supports hundreds of applications, including WordPress.
From the cPanel homepage, I scrolled down to the “Softaculous Apps Installer” section and clicked the WordPress icon. This opened the Softaculous WordPress installation page.

The interface was straightforward with clearly labelled sections:
Choose Installation URL: I selected my domain from a dropdown and could choose to install WordPress in the root directory or a subdirectory.
Site Settings: I entered my site name and site description.
Admin Account: I created a username, password, and admin email address.
Choose Language: English was pre-selected, but other languages were available.
